A fellow forum member ripped me off....

I am pretty new to this forum, but I am not new to the forum world. I am on several other jeep forums and generally everyone you encounter is pretty decent. We are all here for similar reasons, we have similar interests and we all like to help each other out with their projects. I recently started my latest jeep project and I had some questions regarding building a stroker for it. Dezertxj88 was very helpful with information and we exchanged multiple PM's. He mentioned that he sold reconditioned fuel injectors for 85$. I need new injectors, so I decided to purchase a set from him. I sent him 85$ over 2 months ago. He told me that he had been working a lot and didnt get a chance to send them out yet. I understand how that goes, that was almost a month ago. I now can no longer get him to respond to any email or PM. I am not here to bash anyone publicly, but I am here to let everyone know that you might want to think twice before doing any business with this particular person. I am now out 85$ and still need some new injectors. I think its pretty crappy that someone would do this. I thought we were all here to help support each others interests. If I wanted to get taken advantage of, I would go to Craigslist.

Always ALWAYS use paypal for online transactions for person to person sales. Heck.. if at all possible use Paypal for everything online. They have the ability to dispute the charge and then they will investigate. In most cases like this, the person who is trying take money from you wont talk to Paypal and you will eventually get your money back.
FWIW Dezertxj88 was active on this forum less than 3 days ago...

I did use paypal. And I saw that he has been active. That was the final straw for me. I had sent him multiple messages and gotten no response. I guess I can try going through paypal and see what they can do for me. I just thought it was pretty low of someone to do that to a fellow forum member. I guess I am just too trusting.

Thats pretty shitty. But Like everything else there are decent people and there are not so decent. There is a DesertXJ88 on Jeepforum, but I don't know if it is the same guy. Try looking around some of the other forums. And defiantly try taking it up with paypal. And try your local police. I had a similar issue with some punk that sold me crap on ebay. It was eventually settled through paypal, but the same day that I got the confirmation from paypal I received a call back from the local police.

Looked on JF and PBB. Looks like the snake has snuck away.

Fraud case has been opened by PayPal as well as my bank. I also reported it on the federal Internet fraud website. He will get what's coming to him.

I finally got in contact with the individual on jeep forum. Sounds like it was just a misunderstanding. Hopefully I will see my injectors this week and all will be good.

A couple weeks ago I posted that I had been ripped off by a forum member. I had paid for fuel injectors about 6 weeks ago, had gotten a bunch of excuses. Blah blah blah. He got on here and said he would "re-send" me another set. That was 2 weeks ago. Still no injectors. I'm done dealing with this guy. It's all excuses and he just ignores your messages. So basically I'm out 85$. I have filed complaints with PayPal and my bank as well as the federal Internet fraud division. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I just now saw this did you ever get your injectors?? I traded a crank with dezertxj88 for a set of injectors and they arrived. I may still have a phone number for him if needed.
