Just a question...how much valve train noise should a mild stroker have? I think I read that they do make a bit of noise.

I am running a Comp 68-231-4 with matching lifters, mopar performance springs, retainers, locks and valves.

That Comp Cam does make a bit of noise. Its like almost a flutter sound. Not very loud, but you can head it. Its not like a loud tapping noise though.

Ours makes a sewing machine type sound. It's quiet though and I don't notice it hardly at all.

I'd expect yours to make a soft ticking noise at idle due to the fast ramp rates of the cam and the stiffer valve springs, but you shouldn't hear anything while you're driving though.

Its not that bad, just a little first engine build jitters. I am hearing the "sewing machine" sounds as well as the flutter. To further exasperate the sound is the hole in the firewall where the accelerator cable goes thru about an 2 inches from the No. 6 header tube. I may be hearing a little more because of that. Off idle, shes throaty as hell, thanks to the combination Homemade ColdAir Intake, Borla header, 2.5in exhaust, and Super 40 flowmaster...

A hole into the engine compartment will definitely make it louder. LOL

If you do hear anything while driving it's usually at ~1500rpm.

I had a little noise with my Crower 44243 cam..... bugged the heck out of me because I was so careful setting the lifter preload at 0.030" on all valves.
I pulled the valve cover, put each cylinder at TDC to check for excessive valve lash or bent pushrods... all was good, so I started t put it back together.
When I turned the valve cover upside down to clean off the gasket, I saw a shiny spot at each end on the baffle.... the baffle was bent down a little and the rockers were hitting it, causing the noise. Fortunately it was an easy fix!
