OK, so im putting this 4.6 together and when putting the head bolts in a dabbed oil on the threads. Not sure if this was a good idea or not. As im tourqing them to spec i notice oil squeezing out at the head gasket. Did I ruin the gasket and should I replace it now as im doing the assemble? Or is this ok and im just being paranoid? Go ahaed and let me have it if this was a mistake. And yes i put sealer on the driver front bolt.

i'll bet it's fine. you got oil from a dabbing? wow . some dab.

You should be ok. Maybe you just did a bit large dab

Light oil on the threads and under the head of the bolt. A little too much oil? It will be fine.

I can alway count on you guys for jokes and advise. Sometimes both are needed.

PS. Dabblings are good on the grill after you get the oil from them.

What about the one, #11 IIRC, that requires a sealant on the threads and has a different torque spec?

sealed it and 100 ft lb torque
