Im building a stroker motor out of my '91 XJ 4.0 HO and wanted to know if the double roller timing chain is a worthwhie upgrade. Are they stronger than the single roller type?
What are the pros and cons if anyone knows.
I found this Cloyes unit off of http://www.summitracing.com It costs $141.95 and it has three keyways for adjustability (4 degrees advanced, 4 degrees retarded, and normal.
Im goal for this stroker build is a powerful(maybe boost?) and very reliable DD engine that I can put in my '91 2-door XJ.
Any thoughts...?

go dual roller.

i ended up picking up the JP Rollmaster set off ebay for $125 shipped. as most will tell you, order from only a couple sources to reduce shipping cost however this set came with free shipping and was $16 or roughly 10-12% cheaper

G o double roller. There have been a few documented OEM timing chain failers on here. For the little extra money and insurance go with a quality double roller. I used the JP Performance on mine. Great timing chian set.

Whats the part number on that JP Performance timing chain?
I pulled one up on eBay for about $50 bucks but dont know if its for the Jeep 4.0
Are there timing chain sets for other engines that fit the Jeep 4.0 block?

I don't know about the JP brand. But the Rollmaster is CS7100. I just got one off ebay a few weeks back. Both brands are from Austriala. Havn't seen the JP brand in a while. They might be related companys, but my box said nothing on it about JP.

I believe Rollmaster has purchased or was some way related to JP. Rollmaster's PN is the same for the 4.2L and 4.0L: cs7100. JP's part number is: JP5629
