WIll a 258 block just drop into a 92 xj?
Has anyone thought about doing a 258 with 4.0 head conversion,and putting a carb on it?
is it possible?

The whole reason would be to eliminate the FI (computer).
does the computer operate the automatic trans in any way?
Will the 92 auto trans bolt to the 258 block?
you would have a distributer that you can control, a carb you can control. Tuning should be easier.
Why would it be a $$ swap?
Just thinking out loud.
Has anyone tried to put one of the chevy strait 6's into a jeep?

I like my FI and would never go back to a carb..........How ever there is some discussion on it here........You will have to do some searching For it!

i dont even know who makes that big monster 582!! however, the idea of a 4.0 head conversion is big with the AMC Eagle crowd. easy way to pick up a few ponies. well, semi easy. forums.amceaglenest.com, search around that site for the 4.0 head conversion info, its been done, and it SHOULD bolt up to your trans and such. however, if you have the AW4, which im betting you do, wouldnt that be problems when the trans control module looks for info from the 4.0 computer??
