You should not have to build up the transfer case if you have a NP231J -or- NVG231J as they put this same transfer cases behind V8's of much greater power and heavier vehicle.
My 2002 Dodge Durango and my 1993 Dodge Dakota both ran them behind a 5.9L and 5.2L V8, respectively.

Golen build good strokers but it'll be cheaper and more fun to build your own.bigdjs123 wrote:i am deciding on weither to rebuild my 4.0 to stock or buy a 4.6 stroker from golen engines. i wasondering they make a good engine or not.
