Solid lifter cams

Is anyone using a solid lifter cam in their stroker? if not why?
Are they prone to the same problems as the hyd lifter cams?

Solid lifters are not necessary for what most of the users here are building their engines for. Solid lifters are meant to be used in both very high RPM (over 6400) and/or with very strong valve springs. They are not practical for a daily driver because the lash would have to be adjusted on a regular basis. I'm going to use hydraulic lifters so I can set the preload once and be done with it. By problems are you referring to the wiped out cam and lifter? If so, then because it would still be a flat tappet cam and lifter It would still need the ZDDP to avoid loosing a cam.

x2 on the adjustment statement. My brother had a Chevy 283 (sorry....
) with a solid lifter setup and was adjusting those every friday night before the street races. It ran fantastic if you contantly adjusted it. Not worth it IMO.
