I’m currently building a poor man’s 4.6 stroker. This is my first engine build. The engine block is a renix 1987-90 53005535, bored .030, with stock heads, 4.2 crank shaft 1987-90 3727 53005535 4 counterweights, 4.2 connecting rods, stock cam shaft. All the machine work has been done. It’s already for assembly. I have two questions and I’m sure I will have more.
First question is when installing the new piston rings (Sealed power E-234K 30) how are the top and second rings intalled. I don’t have the instructions they are MIA. One of the rings has a dot on top NO inside bevel. The second ring has an inside bevel. What is the orientation of the top and second ring. I’m being told the top ring is dot up and the second ring is bevel down. I have looked at sealed powers website and couldn’t find any instructions.
Second question is will a 2000 intake manifold bolt on to my stock remix head?

The first compression ring is the one with the dot, the seconds compression ring is the one with the inside bevel. General rule of thumb is all marks and bevels face up.

As far as the 2000 intake on the RENIX head it will not work without fabrication. You should consider a newer head. I used a 7120 for my RENIX set-up and 2000 intake Manifold. Its a better perfoming head also.

I contacted the Federal Mogul Aftermarket Product Support Team and here is their answer:
The top ring has no bevel on the inside edges of the ring, install with the dot up, the second ring has a bevel on the inside lower edge, install ring with the dot up and the inside edge bevel down.

Please Call The Federal-Mogul Techline @ 800-325-8886.
