Engine Swap

Post by speedracer12903 »

Is it do-able to put 1997 xj engine 4.0 into a 1993 jeep cherokee 4 door? They are both ho's :?: Is there any major changes in the blocks and heads? Any information would be greatly appreciated :D

Yes. I don't think there is anything different between the engines themselves. The sensors will be different.

I am in a similar situation. Will an older short block from either a 94 or 96 work in a 2000. I know that I will have to switch over all of the brackets and accessories which I am fine with. Some people are saying that I will have to fab a bracket to support the fuel rail, I do not see a hug issue trying to do this either. I am just not sure if the motor mounts and accessory brackets will work with the older casting?

You guys seem to know the most about this and I have spent hours searching with no true answer.

Thanks

Do the motor mounts and accessory brackets off the 92 work on the 97? Thanks.
