Best to read the FAQ's and the posts in the "Projects" section to get started.
If it feels right, then STROKE it!
You're lucky that hundred shot of CAPS LOCK didn't blow the welds on the forum!!

What do you have now and how much do you have to spend on your stroker project? What type of use will the stroker be subjected to?
If you can answer those questions we can advise you on which parts to get and where to get them from.

This short list sums up 99.5% of what you'll need:
Crankshaft
Pistons
Bigger fuel injectors
Engine kit from a supplier like Falcon Global or Northern auto parts

There would be additional options such as a performance cam, valves/springs, roller timing chains, ARP rod bolts, etc.
Walt K
Eastern Pa
2001 Cherokee 4.6 stroker 90 day build
Buick GS's and Saab turbos for other days...

i have a stock 4.0 jeep right now. ive got roughly 2500 to spend. i called a machine shop here in el paso yesterday and they quoted me 460 to bore the block, 3 degree valve job, decking if needed, balancing crank, shot peening rods and pressing the wrist pins and cam bearings. my jeep is mainly used for rock crawling and trail runs.

Then this stroker recipe should be within your budget if you're doing the engine teardown/rebuild yourself:

4.6L low-buck stroker

Jeep 4.2L 3.895" stroke crank
Jeep 4.0L 6.125" rods
Keith Black IC944-030 pistons
9.6:1 CR
CompCams #68-231-4 206/214 degree camshaft
Ported HO 1.91"/1.50" cylinder head
Mill block deck 0.020"
Mopar/Victor 0.043" head gasket
0.050" quench height
Ford 24lb/hr injectors with adjustable FPR or MAP adjuster for '87-'95 engines, Ford 24lb/hr injectors with stock 49psi FPR for '96 and later engines
264hp @ 4900rpm, 324lbft @ 3500rpm

What year is your Jeep?
Start looking for a 258 crankshaft in ebay to get the ball rolling.

Summit Racing is the best place to source most of the parts.
I'll put up a parts list in a separate post so others can use it as a reference.
