I have a 4.7L in a 1998 cherokee it has a 99+ WJ intake with a 63 mm throttle body and spacer, running 24lb injectors, new fuel pressure regulator and 255L fuel pump. On the highway with the cruise on I am running 4-10% lean. In town it varies but still in the lean. I have a hesco unichip and with or without it on the system im still lean. can anyone help. what steps can be done to correct this...???
Thanks, Adam
p.s. i will check this often so if you have questions to help i will try and answer them in a timely manner

I think you're best advised to contact either Lee or Bennie at Hesco, and ask if they can send you a program file with a suitable tune that you can load into the Unichip.
If you live close to Birmingham AL you could even pay them a visit.

What is 4-10% lean? Where did you get this measurement from?

When I was fine-tuning the 4 barrel carb on my old Buick with a wideband, a lean reading was accompanied by misfires and stumbling under load....do you notice that as well? I believe a small exhaust leak can produce a false lean reading.

I would think your injectors are too small... What is your Estimated HP with that build?
24lbs@49psi injectors are only good upto 244HP...

I am assuming since you said OBD that that number is long term or short term fuel trim. This does not mean you are running lean. This just means that the injectors are a bit on the small size and the PCM is adding fuel to get its desired 14.7:1 AFR at cruise/closed loop.
Do you have an indication that it is actually running lean, like a wide band reading?
Do you have an adjustable pressure regulator? If so, what PSI is the rail set at?
