Hey stroker fans, I hav ea situation someone here might be able to help with. I swapped the timing chain on my 4.0 about 3 weeks ago and the motor developed a strange knock. When I first start it it has the usual 160k mile noise then as it warms up it developes a low knock that progressively gets louder. After about 4 or 5 minutes the knock fades away. I took the front of the motor apart and checked the cam button and bolts and all see fine. Any suggestions?

My stroker will be ready in about 3 weeks but im curious as to what might be going on with this 4.0

Did you reuse the cam spring/pins setup in the bolt?

Exactly how loud does it get? And you said it eventually goes away?

yes i reused the cam spring button. it starts light during warmup then get pretty loud like a rod knocking then it fades away. off idle it doesnt do it. only while idling.
