Adjustable MAP or FPR or Both?

Quick question if I could? I was wondering, as I think I read somewhere, can you fool the stock FPR on a '93 to run 49psi by disconnecting the vacuum line? If not, how imperative in your opinions is it to run both an adj MAP and FPR on OBD1? I am running a mild build with a DCR of 8.5:1 @ SL where the temp rarely reaches 75deg. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you planning on using a wideband O2 sensor?

I have both on mine... i found with my RENIX era, it didnt like adjustments on the MAP.. but that was when i was running way WAY too big injectors. I have the right size now, and i added an AFPR. I found that i can tune with the FPR best and i have my MAP adjuster off (so its back to stock).
I think most people use the AFPR for large adjustments and the Adjustable MAP for smaller adjustments.
As long as you have the Wideband before anything else your miles ahead. See what the engine is doing and then decide how you need to adjust. Remember both of these methods will only effect your vehicle at WOT.

Im not using the RENIX AFPR though since im running a 99+ intake. Im using the 91-95 version thats at the top of the page. Both should work and function the same though.
