Need help plz -- 87-95 cam in 04 block

Hi,
I have a "base" stroker in my '04 wj. It's everything stock except 4wt crank and 258 rods. I've ended with 8.1 DCR which is little high for sea level and hot weather so I use 93 with a little to no ping. Now I have severe misfire/tap noise on one cylinder that I'm sure is dead cam/lifter (checked everything - plugs, coil, inj, wiring, compression ok).
I have a new mopar '92 cam that I'm willing to put in my stroker to bring DCR to 7.24. Is it a good idea? With almost stock DCR I will be able to use 87 gas without ping.? Quench is stock .072.
So I need your opinion or experience on:
1. Will it work with newer 99+ PCM?
2. Will it fit in '04 block ok?
3. Will I be happy with 7.24 DCR or will I lose all the hp/tq?

I've searched but it seems that nobody had done it before.
Thanks to all for all the info on this Forum!
Alex.

2. Will it fit in '04 block ok? Yes, it'll fit in the block but you'll need a '98 or earlier timing set (or Cloyes dual roller) plus the earlier style cam bolt/spring/pin (Hesco have it).
3. Will I be happy with 7.24 DCR or will I lose all the hp/tq? You'll lose some but the ability to run the engine on 87 octane will make up for it.

Thanks alot!
I think it would be smart to use .044 gasket in this situation to gain some quench and 0.1 DCR.
