Does anyone have experienced with this ATK Re-Manufactured head?
I have just purchased an ATK Re-Manufactured Jeep 4.0L cylinder head of the needed 0331 type. This is going onto a freshly STROKED short-block engine with a lot of cabbage spent building it. I am concerned that they may be rebuilding salvage yard 1999 - 2002 0331 castings 4.0L cylinder heads, resulting in the same problem I am having to replace after the head cracked thus damaging the engine.

I don't have any experience with it, but I did look at hard it before I turned and bought a Clearwater cylinder head for my 00 XJ.
For your ATK head, look for the TUPY in raised letters between cylinders 3 & 4. The Brazilian TUPY casting is from 2002-2006.
ATK does not specify if they avoid the 00-01 years of 0331 heads. Made me nervous.
You may end up with a good reman 0331, but if its a 00-01 survivor, I'd occasionally peak into the oil fill hole looking for tiny coolant droplets draining back on top of the oil.

Received the new cylinder head from ATK via UPS, yesterday afternoon.
Mine, at least, does say
"TUPY"
between valve spring seats of cylinders 3 and 4. I am relieved and hopeful to not have any problems with this head. I bought this through
http://www.4WD.com as a complete re-manufactured head...
BTW - there is a $175 core charge not mentioned in their catalog/on-line.

Is the ATK head good to run with an aftermarket cam or is it built to OEM specs? If it is OEM specs I assume the springs would not fair well with the increased lift and spring pressure of an aftermarket cam, right?

My build is the
"Modified Poor Man's" STROKER. The re-manufactured ATK #0331 casting 4.0L head is not ported/polished and I am using a stock profile Melling camshaft with it.
I am sure you will have to modify the head/valvetrain to accommodate increased lift.
