I just have recently builded my Wrangler 2006 6speed to a 4.7 and i faced a check engine light which i would like to take advice on from you guys. As noted above "P0016 Crank position - camshaft correlation" is error code. To note that i have used 4.2 crank 12 weights and a SPEC clutch 2+ for the 2006 6sped. and what the garage is saying it could've been from the crank and i have to use the elder model flywheel. so what would u think of it do you think its the flywheel or something else?

I think your cam sensor isn't synced with TDC correctly. What the shop is saying about the crankshaft vs. flywheel is BS. You use the flex plate/ flywheel from the vehicle, not the crankshaft.
See here for the toothpick method of synching: http://motorage.search-autoparts.com/mo ... rticle.pdf

also, 4.2s were never born with fuel injection, so there would be no notches/tone ring for your efi to work. you need to reuse your old flywheel/flexplate for it to work.

Alldata says,
The symptom - P0016-CRANKSHAFT/CAMSHAFT TIMING MISALIGNMENT

P0016 code is set when... "Powertrain Control Module detects an error when the camshaft position is out of phase with the crankshaft position."

The dealer can use thier DRB to sync the crank and cam position sensor.

Went back to the garage and told him that he have to sync the camshaft sensor and he admit that he could not do it. So i he advice to take it to the dealer and the dealer couldnt do it either...im thinking to buy the tools to sync it or if i find a place that could do it.

Have you tried the tooth pick method yet?
I would do that first. Or find another dealer that actually wants to work.

BTW, the tool to do this is about $3000-$5000. I don't think its needed.

That may work but it should really be done with a scanner.Spec is +-2 degrees from 0 .Should not be a big deal to find someone that can do it and shouldnt take more than 10 minutes.I know the snap on scanner has it and i would imagine most other good ones would too.
