I am in the process of building a 4.7 stroker. Looking at comp cam kits, but I was wondering which one to go with. There are a bunch of options and I don't have a clue where to go.

welcome to the forums. if you read around a bit more, youll see that there is a variety of cams that are used, but everytime someone orders a comp kit (including cam, lifters, springs, etc.) they always find out either by reading here or by experience that the springs dont fit the head, they are meant for a 4.2 head. other than that, lifters are fine. good luck!

It depends on how you'll be using your Jeep. For a daily driver with occasional offroad use, I think the Compcams 68-231-4 is the best choice 'cause it gives a good spread of torque over the 800-5200rpm operating range. Just get the cam and lifters. You'll need Mopar Performance 5249464 valve springs, 4452032 retainers, and 4529218 locks (assuming single groove valve stems). These springs are the same installed height as stock and don't require any machining of the spring pockets in the head to make them fit.

Thanks, I thought it was too good of a deal to get cam, valves, springs, lifters, and a timing lit for $340. Good to know, I would have been pretty pissed if I got all this and stuff didn't fit.
