I remember seeing a timing retard/advance 4* function on the DBR II I used on a 97 Dakota. It didn't seem like it stuck though.

I am a chrysler tech and the DRB 3 does not have the ability to adv/ret the timing. All it can do is get you timming between crank and cam sensors in range.

Any idea what the advance/retard function i saw on the DRB II on the 97 Dak was for? Maybe just something in a menu for another vehicle?

No, not that. Since then I have been told that you can adjust the base timing with that entry.
