Yes it is a larger and sturdier case in every direction. I tried to get some pics of the difference before I put it in....

Will there need to modifications to the transmission tunnel?

I got it installed last weekend and there was a good 2 inches or more clearance all the way around it. My application uses a Rough Country long arm kit that incorporates a built in transfer case drop so stock might be different. I was surprised the only thing I had to do was trim the Renix era exhaust bracket sandwiched between the tranny mount and the transmission.

It went to Adams Driveshaft Monday and came home Friday with new drivelines front and rear utilizing 1350 U joints. I got the Novak shifter mostly installed this weekend while I was working on some other things. I still have to buy the Dakota Digital speedo converter to finish the install. All things considered it a pretty straightforward swap.

Picture from front and then rear. These pics don't really give you a great scale/view of the amount of clearance, but I can say I can pretty much get my hand in between the t-case and the tunnel all the way around it.

So, this is the other thing I was working on this weekend. There is a lot of internet press both for and against so I thought I would find out for myself. One thing is for sure, they added many inches of travel on a leaf spring. So much so that I need 5" longer shocks in addition to the YJ brake cables and the longer rear hydraulic line I already installed in anticipation.

Mine is still running as well as they day I built it. While the stroker is now 8 years old I have had this jeep since '96ish, which was a few years before my youngest daughter was born. She's in college now. Today was Daddy/daughter ditch day....
