Dist caps and rotors

Post by 4.whoa »

I was wondering what type/brand of cap and rotor everyone's running. I used to run the dealer stuff 'cause it had brass terminals, but of late i've just gotten the autoparts store junk cause it was qwik & easy. :smack: need to get something better,so.......................what are you using and how do you like it?

"ECLIN" caps and rotors with Jacobs, Taylor or Moroso SPIRAL core wires, Autolite plugs in my four strokes and NGK's in the two strokes.

On the ZJ (stock 4.0L w/ 200k+ miles) I usually use what ever cap that has brass that rock auto has. Wires, what ever looks good for the price. I use NGK spark plugs on the ZJ and XJ stroker. Can't give any details on cap, rotor, and wires for the stroker because it doesn't have any.

I use the "firepower ignition" kit for my 4.0 works really well the kit comes with wires, coil, rotor cap. It retails for $175.00. Comes with 10mm wire's had other types brands before. I personally did not have to much success with This kit is pretty reliable for the price. 8-)

I have seen people use the Fire Power kit before and never heard anything bad about it. It does look nice.

MSD is good stuff and is commonly used. Some people have also tried Accel with bad luck, made in China.

I had the accel set-up several years ago the coil lasted a good while, but the wires were CRAP so were the plugs i went to a MSD coil and wires they were pretty good, for a while but the coil only lasted about a year. the FIRE POWER COIL has work for me pretty good so far its been close to a year and still runing strong, am not sure about the DUI dist or set -ups have never work with one but then again ive never heard anthing bad about them, either hope that helps 8-)
