questions on 4.5l

ok so ive been looking on here for a while trying to learn all about strokers.. well while im learning how to build a 4.7l correctly, i need to do a simple rebuild on my 89 jeep cherokee.. heres my question.. i dont want to just jump into buliding the 4.7 because i dont quite know everyhting i need to know.. This is my first engine build and i want to learn how to do it right. So i have 2 jeep motors.. i was planning on building one just the normal 4.0 rebuild with everything new. so itll be like a brand new motor. and run it and slowly and correctly build my 4.7l stroker on the side. I have 2 258 cranks and i have the 4.2 rods. so im wondering can i do a simple rebuild but just put the 258 crank and 4.2 rods in there and make it a 4.5 l without dishing the pistons and figuring out the quench and CR and all of that.. just like a regular rebuild with the bigger crank? i mean i have 2, 258 cranks so why not use one. or will i have to figure it all out and build it like i would build the 4.7? thanks
