So I'm about ready to install my new 4.6 motor, I have the RE42 automatic trans, so I'm looking at my flex plate
and it has the crank shaft position sencer timing holes on the flex plate. My Question is how do I reline this plate
on my new 4.2 crankshaft so my ECM will read it properly, I mean is there an order for it ? like does it start on
# one pistion ??

The bolts only line up 1 way so you CAN'T get it wrong.just put the flexplate on before the washer/ spacer and you're set.

It looks like the "D" dish was opened up to a circular dish?, not something I would have done, it opened the quench back up!

I don't dought that the quench is .044" at the ring land, but under the quench pad in the cylinder head it's .044"+ what ever the dish is, generally anything between .045" and .180"+ is undesirable, it wouldn't surprise me at all if that engine suffers from detonation even with the lowered compression ratio.
