Quick help from the masters...

When Plastigauging the rod bearings, you bolt down the rod bolts to the recommended torque... However, with the ARP rod bolts you are suppose to use this lube they supply in the bolt kit. Do you apply this lube when you Plastigauge as well as when you do your final torque, or only when your done Plastigauging?

Additionally, is there any order to Plastigauging?

For example, when i did my first rebuild last year i did One main bearing at a time starting at one end and moving to the other end. After i got done with Main # 1 i applied Assembly lube, Torqued to spec again and moved onto Main #2 and so on.. till all the Mains were done. I did the same with the rods... Just went down the line.. 1-2-3-4-5-6. Does anyone see anything wrong with this or should i be doing it differently?

You apply the APR assembly lube to the bolts during plasti gauging and final assembly. The lube is there to help bring the bolt to the correct torque. No real order to it ether. Start at one end and go from there.

I like to torque all the mains at the same time, so if something is not totally straight it might show up in the plastigauge.
