94 manual tranny bolted to a 89 crank

got the stroker motor together and in and went to bolt up the transmission i see where the pilot bushing goes on its different in the 89 crank i tried removing that spacer on the 94 crank but it didn't work i pickup a new pilot bushing to put on the 89 crank pilot bushing from a 94 an i missing something or going at this all wrong to bolt the tranny up this is the last thing i go to do to fire this up and see how it workin

if you post some pictures it might give me a better idea of the situation here. is it the original tranny? what did you get the crank out of?

The earlier trannies had a .59" internal diameter and the later ones had a .75" internal diameter. I don't know what the external diameter of the earlier ones are, but the later ones were 1" IIRC.

I just had this issue with my stroker build and an early 80's crank. The earlier trannies had a .59" internal diameter and the later ones had a .75" internal diameter. I don't know what the external diameter of the 89 crank is, but on my 81-86 crank, it was ~1.06. I ended up using a bushing(not bearing) from Advanced and it was the pb77($3), with a slightly larger than 1" OD and the .75" ID.
