idle questions

ok this should have a simple answer! is there anyway to lower the idle on the stroker with a bored out thottle body? dont know the spec on the thottle body as i did the boring, just straightened out under the the butterfly and some polishing. or is this somthing the computer has to relearn?

it idles about 1000-1200 rpms. it used to idle around 800. or is it normal for it to idle higher with a bigger throttle body?

It shouldn't idle that high with a larger throttle body. Perhaps the blade isn't closed enough. Was the throttle body the only thing that was modified? Sure you didn't leave a vac hose disconnected?
If you just opened it up below the butter fly it should be having a problem. Did you move that set screw any?

no i did not move the screw, or leave a vac line off. maybe while i was cleaning up the bottom with the hone it opened up the hole body a little bit? if so is there a way to make the plate close more without using a new one? if that be the case i might as well keep boring untill it matches the intake runner. right? go big or go home

If you hit where the plate meets with the hone it could cause too much air to go through. You can make it close more by adjusting the sets crew. It stops the blade form hitting the sides of the throttle body.

so its ok to move the screw to lower the idle, but not to raise the idle right. (not that i want the idle higher just remember reading in another post) so if that be the case i will adjust that in the morning

The set screw is not to set idle and should not be used as such. It is there to position the plate from the bore. The FSM doesn't give specifics on adjusting it only its factory adjusted. I read that you want to adjust it until you can just see some light passing past the blade. If its too close it will wear a groove in the throttle body where it is touching. The throttle blade doesn't close 100% and will always let some air past, which helps in controlling the idle.
You can try to use it to lower the idle since the throttle body may be buggered already. Depending on where the hone hit it may cause other problems. If it hit only the lower portion where the blade rests then closing that up will make the upper part too tight. and if you hit it near where the shaft goes you are probably sol as you can't adjust that out and would need a different size plate.
I would make sure something isn't out of sort before attempting adjusting the screw. Make sure that there isn't a sealing issue with the IAC. Make sure the IAC port and sealing sealing seat for the pintle and the o-ring is clean and nothing is keeping the pintle from seating. Ensure that that sealing o-ring isn't pinched or something else is keeping it from sealing.
Did you run the hone through the whole body or just the lower part?

the hone went through the hole thing but i watched to make sure it didnt touch were the plate sits, as soon as it did and the finish was even all the way around i called it good. so i guess i will take it apart and adjust the plate and try it again. all im out is my time to try.

well all is good. i got the jeep to idle at normal rpm and it as happy as can be

ohh sorry, the throttle plate had to be closed down a little and now it idles normal. just a little turn of the screw was all it needed

No. Mine idles at a steady 750rpm.
