Nor sure if this has been spotted before or if it is fairly run of the mill but i just saw this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-4-0 ... 500wt_1182 and thought it might be of interest to someone who is in the market for an offset ground crankshaft. Shipping to aus is a little high so best suited to North American buyers!

EDIT: it's supplied by a company called Newcomer Racing. I don't know of their reputation, credibility or quality of work, i'm simply posting a link to a seemingly hard to come by [off the shelf] product out of interest.

Wow--a 4.195" stroke. Could be worth it if nobody bids on it.

If only it was on there a few months ago, I probly would have gone for it.
The rods are long too. Seems like it would be hard to get a good piston made that would stay in the hole, right?

The pistons would not be an issue, you just call up a manufacturer with your measurements / parts list and they can make 'nearly' anything you can come up with.

This would be a great crankshaft and rod kit to get for a 0.020" over, 9.5:1 CR with a moderate sized cam and a 4500 rev limit. too bad its not a 12cw crank, as it is a great low-rev huge torque setup.

LOL... we are finishing up a Ford engine for a customer who is using the Hendrix rods and pistons, pretty radical looking pistons on those, I had looked at them and thought about using them in a Jeep.
On a more serious note, I wonder if a crank with those dimensions has been used in an engine and how long it lasted.

Check out this old thread here on this forum:

Lots of information and specifications for a 306.5 engine. JE pistons were something like a 4 month lead time.
