if youre using a COP system on an older head you should really just fab a good solid bracket to hold the coil pack down and that would solve the ignition problem. im not sure that a zip tie or mutiple zip ties is going to give you the hold down you need. also, using zip ties everyday, (ill use about 1000 in a month for my work) i know that eventually they will dry out and could break, giving you no ignition at a time you could need it really bad (see: "oh shit i REALLY need to get out of your way mr really big truck!!")
