A/C HEATER Control SWITCH NOT WORKING ?

A/C HEATER Control SWITCH NOT WORKING ?

Hey ever one, I was wondering if any one has had this problem i have a 92 jeep Cherokee xj the "A/C control" is not working property if i put the control at low it blows air at the high setting if i put it in the med setting it blows the AIR low is this a switch problem or a fan blower problem? the temp switch works good it just seem to be the Fan setting that having the problem? has anyone ever had this problem? Any help well be greatly appreciated; not looking forward to freezing my ass off this winter in my jeep Thanks 8-)

it's either the switch or the blower motor resistor. (we know the fan works)

first things first make sure the resistor pack is plugged in (see pic #2 in first link)

My 94 XJ had the switch melt on it, my 88 and 90 xjs did not.
Anecdotal evidence points to Chrysler using cheaper parts ofter the take over.
For the melted switch I cleaned it up and used it to trigger a bank of 4 relays taking the 15+Amp load off of an already marginal switch.

Most likely the resistor.

I think its probably your switch. When the resistor goes it only works on high speed (had it happen 2x)

Thanks every one for the advice and suggestion , The weather here is not working with me at all hopefully I will be able to work on it next week before turkey day. 8-)

Will finally got the A/C heater switch on looks like that was it. It seem to be working fine, know the old switch connection harness was "bake" on the connection. I had to clean it up a bit with a wire brush and some electric cleaner form radio shack. 8-)
