Well i have been reading these post for a while now finally joined. But i have read way to much i don't know what way to go now. I have a 98 4.0 I plan to build into the 4.6 for my 98 wrangler. I have bought a used 4.2 crank rods and pistons. Pistons as because they are still on the rods. I am really confused on milling the block and head some say yes some say no. I have seen a lot of people like Dinoes recipe if i follow his below recipe do i need to deck the block or head?

Milling the head is done to make it flat or increase compression. The later is rarely done on a Jeep stroker. Decking the block will decrease your quench and increase your compression ratio. Decreasing the quench is why most people deck the block and technically the increased compression shouldn't matter because the quench will reduce the tendency to ping. It all depends what you are shooting for.
