Thanks for the kind words.

Still need to clean up the wiring by the battery. Redid the harness and have to integrate some accessory wiring.

The brass cannister is actually the diaphragm for the mechanical fuel pressure gage... RIP. Will be updating to an electric model soon.

If you are going to be doing work on the battery wiring I would suggest these terminals

Image

They go by military battery terminals and can be had at Napa. They do a better job than the standard strap type. And you have 4 different spots you can tie accessory cables in to. Plus they are silver in color which matches blue better than brass.

Thanks Silver, I`ll look into them.

Kinda anal on electrical systems. IMHO Jeep did a crappy job of power distribution and grounds.

I have already completely rebuilt my rear and dash harnesses. Adding better connectors and additional grounds. Plus changes in wire gage.

Over the winter the engine and front harness will be rebuilt. Integrating some of the loose wiring you see next to the battery into one clean package.

Mounted on the firewall just under the dash is a 6 circuit fuse box. All of the "extra" electrical accessories run off that added box. Radio, CB, aux. power plug, etc. Totally separate from the factory harness.

I can't stand the $#!++! stock terminals nor the cheap replacements I used that fail to get the - tight enough--I'm way overdue for good quality terminals and the 2 gauge welding cable upgrade(and headlight harness as well)!

Try "Weatherpack" connectors. They are made for/by Delphi and are OEM for GM cars/trucks.

eBay has several kits or you can buy them piecemeal. HiPo automotive is one seller that works well.
