I remember someone mentioning this before. He thought about drilling the hole in the girdle larger for the stud, but then there wouldn't be any meat for the nut to bite to. I think he left it out.

When I built mine (a year n a half ago) I called hesco and asked the same thing. I talked to a Butch ( I think ) and he said I'd have to use the factory bolts. Didn't want to discuss "studd options " at all

You could always have one made. I think someone on here had one made just to clear the rods without using washers.

Do you think you would sacrifice an unaccaptable amount of bottom end strength/rigidity by leaving it out? Afterall this is just gonna be my DD...

My 92 doesn't have one and its a pretty smooth engine but my 96 block stroker will have it...just because. Why are we going with a different bearing bolt setup that will not allow the girdle instead of a " stock" type system that will?

I am not exactly sure why they put it in. I heard it was to help eliminate NVH (noise vibration and harshness). I alss heard it was added to increase block strength after Jeep remover 40lbs from the block itself.

Either way I'm not sure it would make a difference if it was in or out.
