No timing chain tensioner/guide with a double roller?

Hesco says not to run the timing chain tensioner/guide with a double roller. Can't figure out why though. I'm rebating removing the one on mine and removing the slots that hold it to the cover.

Keep or remove?

I kept mine, Running the Cloves double roller chain. I did put in a new rubbing block.

I'm running a JP double roller with the stock guide. Over 12,000 miles on my stroker.

Have you asked them to see what their reason was for the recommendation? That seems like the best place to start.

They said a) is not needed and b) not enough room. I removed it. I saw no purpose considering it is on the tension side of the chain. I.e. it wouldn't take up slack, just screw with the cam timing. Stupid design IMO.
