HELP QUICK! Bearing nicked?

Ok I'm installing my main bearings and getting ready to plasticgauge.

I was installing my bearings into the caps and i barely dropped one when it slipped out of my fingers. I went to check it and noticed tiny nicks along the edge where the bearing mates to the upper bearing.

It two tiny nicks on the very corner of the bearing but I can just feel a raise on each one with my fingernail!

Is there a way to fix this, or will I have to buy a new set? (~$90 and a few days to wait on shipping, no one has .040 under bearings around here).

EDIT PICS, very fuzzy, but best i can do...

You can barely see both nicks next to each other to the left of the notch:

and a third, smaller, nick on the opposite side:

Well I don't know if you guys can tell very well but if you can help me out. I just need to know if it'll be ok, or i can fix them some how, or if I need a new set?

You might be able to smooth it out, but personally I would feel more comfortable with a fresh one... Call it cheap insurance.

From the images the nick look very small and doesn't span the bearing in width or thickness. Bearings are soft and won't damage the crank. Take a knife and cut off any raised portion. It will be fine.

I'm gunna try and smooth it a bit and put it in a cap that'd be easy to access. I forgot about the fact that bearings are way softer than the crank and not likely to scratch it. That was what I was most worried about.

Hey thanks for the quick responses guys! Very helpful!

I'm getting to the point where I'm dreaming every night about driving my Jeep again lol. I really don't want anything to go wrong so I'm triple checking everything.

What he said. Just smooth away the raised portions of the nicks and it'll be fine.

YEP!, The crank won't even touch the bearing there, dress it up and RUN it!
