Which Fuel Pressure Regulator?

What adjustable fuel pressure regulator are you guys running on a 4.6?
I have a 1997 HO engine without the return line. I have installed an E2000 pump on the frame rail near the tank. Now I need a regulator. Which one do you guys prefer? Should I get one with a return line built in?
Also, pics of the fuel pump/regulator would be cool.

You'll need one with a return line as your current fuel system is non return with the regulator on the stock pump.

Thanks SilverXJ, but do you have a preference on brand or even a model #.
Also, do I mount it up near the engine bay or near the fuel pump?

Surely someone on this board has some info. I have looked at several regulators, but I am too confused about which one to get and don't feel like throwing the dollars out only to get the wrong one.
Any ideas?

i hear alot of people mention whether they are running the 49 psi rail or the (adjustable) fuel rail with the regulator built on the end. they may use a different word, but its the rail from the older style (96 and down i think??) with the return line on it. i have one for my 4.6 (not running yet) that i grabbed from a 93 HO engine. hope that helps

My vehicle does not have the reglator built in. It also does not have the return line at the end of the rail.
I just want to know what regulator most people are using.

Your vehicle has a regulator built in on top of the fuel pump. There is no simple way to replace this unless you want to go with an external pump and regulator and then dump a return line into the tank someplace. Hesco does make a bolt on unit, but its around $400, IIRC.

The Cherokee that the engine came out of contained the fuel pump and regulator in the tank. You are right.
My application (YJ) did not have a fuel pump and regulator. And the engine does not have one on the fuel rail.
I am asking what regulator do most of the guys on this site use? I want to make sure I get one that is good, but not outrageously expensive.

I run a Aeromotive, and it is mounted up front right under the intake. I fabed a bracket that uses the motor mount bolt on the frame bracket. I also bought one of the Jegs brand fuel pressure guages. Also, Russel makes the quick release adapters to fit the fuel rail and factory YJ fuel lines and they have the -6 fittings on them that match the FPR. I think they call them LT1 adapters or GM adapters.
