This was just a thought today. I will do the mockup and measurements next week. Taxes suck in the middle of a build got to find a way to deduct for the waste of grinding time!!!!!! If it works is there any interested in it set up time is worth it in numbers . I'm doing 2 to 4 I'll let you know if the numbers match I hope they do save big $ !!!

I was able to Compare both flexplates today and re drilling will not work the th400 bolt hole pattern lines up on the curve on the backing plate close to the ring gear. In the proses of conpairing the two I noticed that both main plates are bent the same way where the ring gear is welded on. That sparked my next idea to cut the trigger ring off the 4.0 flexplate and weld it to the 4.2/th400 flexplate and rebalance it. Any thoughts?

On my 4.0L, I used a 258 flexplate on the 400 and then relocated the CPS to the balancer. The 400 eats alot of power, not sure I would have built the Jeep that way if I did it over again. I know this is an old thread, just wanted to pass that info along.
