Cam selection?

Starting work on porting and polishing a new top end, and am looking at cams/valves. I do not plan on stroking the motor at this time, but would like to leave the option open at a later date. Question is, what would be a good valve/cam that wouldn't be too much for the stock bore/stroke, but not too little for a 4.7? Is there a happy medium?

Yeah, I was thinking about that one, but wasn't sure if it might be a little too much for stock bore/stroke. Good to know. Thanks.

I ran that on my 4.0L and it worked well.

What do you plan on using the motor for? Daily driver with good road manners, offroad torque monster, drag strip, or mid to high end for mud/sand running? Regardless of bore/displacement you need to start with the motors intended use.

Mostly offroad , but still have some on-road manners, I still DD this for the time being, and once I get a new DD, I still plan on driving it to and from the trails.
Port and polish work will be for more air velocity rather than volume, for low end torque purposes, though more mid range power wouldn't be a bad thing.
