I NEED ELECTRICAL HELP ASAP!!!

Post by bikedude189 »

so, i'm not sure which wire is supposed to go to the alt on top. there are two large black wires with circle connectors on the end, i beleive one goes to the alt the other to ground. either way i try it, the 60A fuses fry. it seems like they are getting the full force of the battery. i only have two fuses left so i've been using small gauge wire, and it fries instantly too.

PLEASE, someone help me so i can drive home tonight, i'm at my parents house, stuck in the garage.

which wire goes to the alt?
why are my fuses burning up?

During my stroker build I took this picture. It shows the connections going to the back of the altenator.

Hope this helps

If you haven't gotten that fixed yet, perhaps this will help. The alternator is a two wire configuration, both black wires go to the alternator, the ground is through the "Idiot Light" wiring. one wire (10 awg) goes to the post marked Batt, the 8 awg wire goes to the other low post on the back of the alternator. Neither black wire is a ground.
