So I just bought an 01 XJ cuz my 98 got burned down by a low life... long story. Come to find out the 01 wasn't actually checked out by a mechanic like the dealer told me it was and the thing has a cracked 0331 head on it and has very little to no oil pressure due to the main and connecting bearings being shot. Started toying with the idea of a stroker motor for it and came across Titans 4.9L with a pretty impressive 315hp claim. Found some old topics on here about Titan, most seem to say stay away from Titan but they all seem to be about 2 years old. Anyone have any more recent experience with Titan and especially the 4.9L? Talked to one of the owners of Avenger Supercharger in town and he has a Titan 4.7L in one of his vehicles and he likes it and hasn't had any mentionable problems. He did say another motor Titan built for Avenger had some problems. He also mentioned they're considering teaming with Titan to produce a 400hp+ supercharged stroker ready to install motor to lure people away from V8 swaps!!! I can only dream haha. So what do you guys think? Has Titan cleaned up their act or are they still so so to pi$$ pour??? If not Titan than what's the best option... ATK, Hesco? Built motor or stroker kit? I'm looking for quick remedies cuz it's my DD and options with max power gains, more power!!!

I have a 4.9 Titan and do not have any problems. It has about 5000 miles and I drive it everyday. I have been to the Titan facility in Fla. They have remodeled in the last couple of months, and it is very impressive.

I'd be interested to find out how Titan achieved the 4.9L displacement and the 315hp claim.

Rocket, did they tell you what all the warranty covers? I.E. what happens if there's a problem with the motor? Will they cover labor to pull the motor back out? How's the motor feel? Like it really has 315hp? I wonder if they test all of their motors...
