my deck was milled .050 to get to 0 deck, according to my machinist, so i'll need to buy rocker arm shims, at least until i figure out the right length for pushrods. but i can't for the life of me find a good set anywhere, so where can i buy them???

Ask your machinist? He/she should have some or know where to get some for you.

I used some SS washers on mine. works great and they're cheaper.

I would recommend not using ss washers as they are too soft. I would try to find some hardened washers. However, .050" is a lot to shim your rocker arms and most likely throw off the rocker to valve stem alignment. I recommend forgoing the washers and getting the correct push rod lengths. On the length you will want to measure both intake and exhaust because they could be different lengths due to different cam lobe diameters.
