I'm a little curious how you 4.0 rod guys justify the cost of using 4.0 rods vs using 4.2 rods.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you get about a 10 hp gain. With the additional cost of about 500$ (kieth black pistons and reconditioning your own rods. vs purchasing PAW stage II rods and Speed pro pistons.)

search some old threads and youll see that this topic has been beaten into the ground, and usually turns into an 8-10 page thread right quick. sometimes it even gets heated.

. The extra 10-15hp or so that you're referring to isn't from using the 4.0 rods with KB944 pistons but rather from using a performance cam instead of the stocker. The higher cost also comes from the performance cam with upgraded valve springs/retainers/locks in addition to the KB pistons if you're making a comparison to my "poor man's" stroker.

Thanks that clarifies alot! I thought it was that little bit more displacement.
