This came up in a recent discussion on another board. A guy got on there talking about how a turbo'd 4.0 was making +600 HP. Turns out he was referring to the 505 performance 5.0L Turbo stroker. I correct him and say, thats not a turbo'd 4.0, its a turbo'd 5.0L stroker, blah blah blah, shit hit the fan and a pissing match broke out.

In my opinion, calling something a 4.0 means its a stock engine. Calling an I-6 thats been bored and stroked out to 5.0L a 4.0L is incorrect. It should be called what it is, either a 5.0L I-6, a 5.0L stroker or a s&b'd 4.0. So my question is with your stroker, do you still refer to it as a 4.0?

If its a 4.6L its not a 4.0L. The name comes from the displacement, so if the displacement changes the original name is incorrect. Besides from what I can find the true name is Jeep Powertech straight six. Maybe 4.6L stroked 4.0L?
