I know there are a couple other threads on this, but I didn't want to Hijack them - so I created a new one.

Alot of research has gone into this. This is what I have figured out thus far:

12cw crank (I already have it)
98 4.0L donor (I already have it)
Hesco Head
Diamond Pistons
Eagle Rods
Cam is still open as I might need to go with a custom grind for the app

Avengers charger looks to be a nice unit, although a bit too pricey for me when you have to figure in injection mods.

So...

98+ intake, modded so that a Eaton M90 can be mounted to it.

I need to do some mockup so I can figure out what hood clearance will be, but I want it all to fit under a stock CJ hood.

So for $400 for the charger, $400 for a megasquirt EFI setup and quite a bit of time modding an intake, I should be well under the price of an avenger system including the injection system.

I do have some questions though, mostly geared towards those that have supercharged/turboed strokers.

Is the megasquirt the best option for injection (the only other one I would consider at this point is from Accel)? What kind of compression static/dynamic do you need to stick with? I know the calc spreadsheet on here doesn't take into affect boost, so it's not correct. How much boost can I safely run? And what kind of power can I expect?

Let me know what ya'll think,
Waldo

You should check out turbo tom's build here http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=7&t=354 450hp on a 4.0

He used a megasquirt too, it is cheap, and Tom used parts from a motorcraft distributor to convert his jeep distributor to generate the 6 pulses per turn required for the megisquirt.

I went with a Haltech systen on my Bonneville truck. They have a new model that sells for about $800.00, its called the Sprint. If you want timed fuel injection and coil per plug, you will have to move up to the Sport 2000, probably more like $1,500 . but it has advanced features like launch assist that dumps a ton of fuel in and retards the timing so it moves the combustion event more into the exhaust cycle. This causes the turbo so spin up very quickly.

I have attached the specs:

Good Luck!
