Hesco Springs

Hey Gang

Really not trying to lose my cool over this...But I ordered a set of HESSPRSS6 springs from HESCO.

Description from website:
Provides higher spring pressures/height when installing performance cam shafts. Provides better protection against breakage with high performance engines running at higher RPMs.

NOTE: Machining is required to properly set installed height. Single groove valves only. 1997-Up 4.0L Jeep engines have triple groove vales and must purchace single groove valves in order to use this kit.
This leads me to believe that they will fit any of the 4.0 heads, but the pad would need to be machined to achieve proper pressure.

I got them over the weekend. Lo and behold, they are the same SBC RV springs and retainers that we carry on the shelf! If I wanted SBC springs, I wouldn't have spent $151 on them...

Maybe you should return them.

Oh I will be. I'm going to give them the opportunity to explain themselves. I really am hoping that they screwed up and sent the wrong stuff.

I thought about going with those, but I already have the valve job done with the single groove valves. Still waiting to hear back from Bennie.

Couldn't you find a lock for the single groove valves?

There are 8* single grove locks with a similar install height somewhere. I do not have the part number for them

Forget about getting HESCO to reply to any emails.

I'll be returning the springs, which apparently are 'specially' made Chevy springs, but I will be keeping the retainers. They're kind of neat.
With those you can use Jeep valves and keepers along with Chevy springs.

I'm going to call shenanigans on the 'specially' made thing, though. They are the same spring rates and dimensions as the Chevy RV springs I carry and sell for $1.75
