Hey guys,
Im looking for a 4.0L block to build a stroker out of for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee. I would like to get a 97+ one with the newer intake ect. but there is also the Coil on plug that changed in 2000. My question is this....Is there anything different from the earlier 4.0 blocks that would be different from my 2000?

You don't want to use a head attached to a 2000-2001 block. Get an earlier head or later head, like a 2004 if later. Coil rail mounts are a minor work around at any rate. Some people think that a 2000-2001 XJ will only take a 2000-2001 XJ block. I'm not sure about that anymore, but don't use a TJ or WJ block. I would like to see if a 1997-1999 XJ block would work.

From what I know the only differences were the head and COP configuartions on the 00 and 01's But thanks for the links and the info I want to get a 97-99 motor and use that as a platform to work off of. Thanks again.
