Messing with a Mustang GT

On my way into work today I ended up behind a mid 2000's Mustang GT. He had a louder than stock exhaust, maybe flowmasters, so I thought I might mess with him a bit and see if he would bite. Well the light turned green and off he went, not getting on it real hard, but I was right behind him. This is a 4 lane HWY, 2 lanes each direction. A few miles down the road we hit another red light. The GT was first car in the left lane, tractor trailer in the right lane, so I pulled behind the GT. I knew he was going to get on it when the light turned green, so I was going to see what my little 6 was going to do.
Light turns green and we are off. I hold the skinny pedal to the rug...4500 rpm I shift to second gear and chirp the tires, 4500 rpm, I shift to third gear, still right behind the GT. 60 MPH I let off the gas to keep from getting a ticket. The GT does the same. The speed limit is 55MPH and there are a lot of cops that like to sit on the side of the road, so I don't want a speeding ticket. We continue down the road and start hitting traffic, so the fun is over, or so I thought.
I had lost sight of the GT, but that was OK. I was happy with way my little stroker performed and I know a Mustang GT can out run a Jeep Wrangler. My stroker was built to replace my tired 4.0. To be a daily driver and not a race car. The 7.75 DCR lets me run on 87 octane fuel. The cam is a mild torque cam, so it stops pulling at around 4500-4800 rpm, as far as I can tell from my butt dyno. It will rev past 4800 rpm, but I don't feel it pulling as hard. I get 19 MPG if I drive it easy.
About 5 miles down the road I hit anouther red light. I am the first car in the left lane. I hear the rumble of a loud exhaust, and in my rear view mirror I see 4 lights of a Mustang GT (2 lights in the grill). OK, it's on again. The light turns green I get on it one more time. Same senario, stand on the gas, chirp second, hit third and let off the gas at 60MPH, with the GT right behind me. We hit on more red light, this time right next to each other. But I'm done. The light turns green and off goes the GT chirping second as I take a drink of coffee.
