JP magazine Insane Inline #2

Post by Plechtan »

Just got the Nov JP magazine, They have a short article on their new "Insane inline" They claim they dynoed it @ 558hp Turbo, 30 lbs of boost.
the article reads like a ad for 505 performance.

They claim 298 CFM of flow with a 2" intake valve. The cam looks pretty mild and really not that much lift.

It would be great if you could buy a 500 hp crate engine. Lots of details missing

Those numbers don't even seem right. That much boost should generate a bit more HP than that!

Did anyone else notice their comment about rocker arm ratio?

Gee, lets see, 5K for a turbo kit, $2,500.00 for a stroker kit, 1 head with chevy valves ported and polished $1,500.00, Rockers $600.00 Aftermarket ECu system $2,000.00, dyno tuning $1,000.00, various machine work, gaskets etc $1,500.00, special cam and lifters $1,500.00 Etc. So for the small price of about $15,000 you can have one of these too.

I don't think Turbo Tom spent even half that.

They should call this the special 505 edition of JP, they have another article in the mag on a turbo for the 4 banger.

What's the deal with 505 anyways? They made a brief appearance a while back and then..nothing.....

We ask questions and they don't answer. Then they end up in JP with this outlandish build.

Sounds fishy to me...

Got some info on the dyno numbers, 19 lbs of boost, hp in the 675-700hp range and a little more than 750ftlbs of torque. I, looking foward to the next issue where hopefully we will get more details of the build.
