Possibly selling the stroker...

Post by Jeep4xb4u »

Don’t know if this would be the most ideal spot and feel free to move it, I just don’t want to post this in the classifieds yet seeing how my decision isn’t confirmed.

I have considered selling my stroker engine and wanted to see what you guys thought would be a reasonable asking price and see if there would be enough demand to make it worthwhile.

Little history: I started the build on this thing more than a year ago to replace my tired stock 88' 4.0 with intensions on running this along with my incomplete D44 project. Unfortunately I am running out of time before I get into my own place. From there who knows what the bill situation will look like. I would consider including the D44 if the price was right. I know the head and intake are not the most desirable for these engines but the bottom end is bullet proof and the top is as good as you would want the old style to be. Should I sale as is? Should I swap the top end out for a newer style setup. Below I put the link to my build post (as short as it is). Maybe you pros can give me some educated opinions. The sale would include everything shown plus a few more additions since then and minus the exhaust which I haven’t purchased yet.

Thanks for any input you people have.

Hmmm? No replies this is looking dismal. Maybe i should just keep it? I'm not looking forward to selling it but i might have to if something comes up. Bills come before my toys. So seriously guys, any input is greatly appreciated and will not be critiqued. Thanks in advance.

I would just keep it until things settle down and you have the resources to start up on it again. Chances are you would have to sell it for a lot less then you have into it and then if you decide to start up on the project again in the future you will be starting from scratch. Then with inflation all the parts that you already have and would need again would be that much more money if they are available at all. That's just my opinion, when I start a project I like to see it threw to the end but it's yours and if you do sell it some one will get a good starting point for there jeep...
