You could use 1.94/1.50 SBC valves. That is what I used on my 7120 head. They are a lot cheaper than the Mopar valves. It also opens up a lot more valve spring options.

any special machine work on the head? what about custom pushrods?

trying to minimize the impact on my wallet. less after performance than stable reliability-this is the one and only motor im building for my truck.

machinist found LT1 valves but they are like $30/EACH... OEM is 10-12/each.

got a part number for the SBC valves? same length stems?

BTW-hows yours run? pump gas?

I bought these from ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SBC-spec ... ccessories. I emailed the seller and bought only 12 int and ex.

The valves are the same length, but the grooves in the sbc valves are lower. The intake throats need to opened up as well as the valve guides. After machining the sbc valves installed at the same height. I used +.050 valve locks to lower the installed seat pressure of the valve springs. The reason I went this route was my guides and valve stems were worn. It was a little cheaper to go this route, not much. Talk with your machinist about installing the sbc valves.

I used roller rockers with guide plates, so I am not running stock pushrods. I don't know if stock length pushrods will work with the sbc valves.

My stroker is not installed yet.

dont know/care-this is a one-time build and i dont want to ever take anything apart. it should last 300k+ miles which means the rest of my life... =)

when i build motors i like to pretty much replace it all. especially on a donor head of unknown vintage, abuse, or mileage. if it was a motor i bought brand new and rebuilding-diff story.. maybe.

like building a house-its cheaper to move a wall in framing than after its painted... =)

Hesco is the only place I know of to get SS stock replacement valves.

I got my Chivy LS2 valves 2.00 intake and 1.55 exhaust (all 16) springs retainers seals and keeper off of Fleabay for $38 shipped!, they are "New Take Outs", they look ABSOLUTELY NEW!!!!! there is 0 wear on them!
