Time for some new recipies?

In the FAQ section, there is a topic called " stroker recipies", which links you directly to Dino's page. This page is probably the most important page relating to stroking a Jeep I6 ( Thanks Dino). It was the first page of any substance i stumbled on when i started my project. Some of the recipies have Crane Cams in them, and i think it would be interisting to have some additional recipies added based on member builds.
If Dino wants to upgrade his page, Great!, but i dont know where he got all the time to write it in the first place. What about some of the members posting their recipies and HP Numbers. I would like to see Turbo Tom's E85 build, and a build with the KBB944 pistons. How about a 4" bore build with small block ford pistons and the Eagle rods?
Shouldn't the recipie also include the intake and exhaust?
Just a thought, I think allot of the members have built some pretty cool motors and we sould probably post the best of them in the recipies section.

Thanks for the compliment Peter. My "recipes" were intended more as a guideline rather than to stick to them rigidly. Most Jeepers (including me) have built theirs with variations anyway. My original build was similar to the 4.6L low buck option 1 except for the +0.020" 677P pistons and the Crane 753905 cam. After the cam failed and I swapped my old stock cam back in, it became a 4.6L version of the "poor man's" instead.

My point was that some items like the Crane cams will soon not be available, and some new parts like the KB944 pistons are available. The recipies are a great guide for peaple starting out. Mayne we could come up with some new recipies using some of the newer parts.

If you want some price ideas take a look at my thread... I think I have listed every part and price I had. Its your basic 4.6L KB944 stroker with some other things.

Who is Turbo Tom and why have I not talked to him about an E85 build? The only person that I was tracking with an [unsuccessful] E85 build was FrankZ. 1bolt also expressed interest in a high-compression build.
My build will be rather simple really, just use the 4.0 rods with KB945 pistons. As far as I know there is nobody on this site that has used the KB945 pistons. My cam choice is the COMP 68-231-4, but I don't know if I should go with the 68-232-4. I plan on using 30lb injectors and some sort of E85 "conversion kit" (
example). I will end up with a SCR of 10.92 and a DCR of 9.51.

See this thread, viewtopic.php?f=5&t=530&hilit=E85&start=60
See the last post on the bottom of the page
Does that answer your question?

That won't be difficult Peter. Keep checking out my stroker webpage 'cause I'll make some updates to my recipes in the coming days. Summit Racing no longer has any Crane cams in stock for the Jeep I-6 so I'll replace the Crane cams in my recipes with CompCams or other grinds.

Gee no high buck 325 hp build? How about Eagle rods with 4" bore SB ford pistons ?
If you look at the poll, it seem that most people spend $2,500- $3,000 on their motor, so they must be buying some expensive parts. I guess the builds with the KB944 pistons won't bee cheap, $500 for pistons alone.
How about adding an aproximate cost to each recipie? or a cost range?

Costs keep changing and they'll vary depending on where you buy them from. The same also applies to machine shop costs so I'd rather not quote actual numbers.
Eagle rods for the Jeep I6 were discontinued a while ago so they're not readily available. The only viable long rod stroker option is with the 4.0 rods.
