Rebuild to carry over

Im buying a cherokee 4.0 HO engine saturday, its coming from a '93 (i think)
owner states that it ran before he pulled it out, so when i rebuild it, i should have minimal concern about any major cracks...
The reason of this thread is basicly asking what all i need to get to just rebuild a regular 4.0 untill i get the money to stroke the engine i pull out of my '95 cherokee.
is there a gasket kit sold online some where? what will i need to watch for when tearing it down? This will also be a learning experience for me because ive never touched the internals of an engine before, therefor should help me when its time to build a 4.7
